U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation Announces $15 Million Commitment from Michael Taylor '86
The United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation (AA&F) is proud to announce a $15 million commitment from Michael Wilson Taylor '86. This generous contribution will provide vital resources to advance the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) and its alumni. Taylor's gift will establish an endowment for academic excellence at USNA, ensuring long-term investment in current and future educational programs. Additionally, the contribution will provide essential support for AA&F daily operations at the Fluegel Alumni Center, ensuring its continued role as a home for alumni engagement for generations to come. “There is nothing more impactful and more wholesome than giving back to the U.S. Naval Academy,” said Taylor. “I fundamentally believe in what the Alumni Association & Foundation is doing to support our alumni and the Academy now and in the future. Philanthropy will always be critical for continuing the “margin of excellence” which funds important programs that allow our Midshipmen the opportunities they need to become leaders of character and consequence for our nation.”

Sing Second Podcast with Michael Taylor '86
Welcome to another great episode of the Sing Second podcast. We bring you the stories and happenings at the Naval Academy and the Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation (AA&F). We just announced a $15 million contribution from Micahel Taylor '86. Chris and John talk to Michael about his "why" for giving back, how life in Singapore is going and his early start in aviation. Chris and John also talk about a great weekend supporting Class of 2025 parents at Commissioning 101. We chat about a disappointing 1-2 weekend vs Army in Star matchups. And we remind everyone about how dangerous these jobs are in the Navy as we break down the recent mishaps in San Diego with a Growler crash and the USS Harry S. Truman collision at sea. Give a listen. Beat Army ... always.

Alumnus appearing on Next Level Chef - Hangar Bay Spice Company
Introducing James Parreira, class of 2011.  He graduated and selected aviation … flying Hornets now in the Navy Reserves with VFC-12.  He and his wife started Hangar Bay Spice Company. They craft spice blends from global travels while Jim was deployed. All the food on board the aircraft carrier lacks flavor, so he decided to go into the galley with some of his squadron mates one night on deployment and cook for all the aircrew with better spices. A phenomenon was born. Hangar Bay Spice Company donates a portion of sales to Gold Star Family Members via the Wingman Foundation and KMAC Foundation (a foundation made by late Kyle McArthur's, class of '11, father).  Jim and his wife will appear on the show Next Level Chef on FOX with Gordon Ramsay, showcasing their spices.  Watch the home chef category this Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.
