Son shares Fonville Winans' iconic Louisiana photos in new book (Winans '63)

Robert "Bob" Winans talks about the photos his father, the acclaimed Louisiana photographer Fonville Winans, took throughout his storied career.

Winans recently published a book of his father’s photos “Whispers of the Oyster Camp” that’s available in hardback and paperback on amazon.com.

These are photos Fonville took of life along the Louisiana coast in the 1930s while he and his crew traveled in his boat, the Pintail. Fonville’s photos give a glimpse into the history and culture of the coastal communities of that time period.
