
Obituary (MD) Melvin S. Branham Sr. - USNA Barber for 40+ Years (31 October 1942 – 21 May 2026)
Melvin S. Branham, Sr., 83, a lifetime resident of Anne Arundel County, died peacefully under hospice care at his residence on the early morning of May 21, 2026. Melvin was born in Hanover, Maryland, on October 31, 1942, to Percy S. Branham and Macie Etta (Cole) Branham. He was a lifelong member of the Brooklyn United Methodist Church and was a Master Barber for the United States Naval Academy for over 40 years. Melvin was also a member of the Annapolis Moose, where he enjoyed dancing. He enjoyed traveling in his younger years and watching Westerns as he grew older. Melvin had a unique sense of humor; he was a jokester and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.
Melvin is preceded by his parents, Percy S. and Macie Etta (Cole) Branham; his two sons, Melvin S. Branham, Jr., and James W. Branham; his two brothers, Wesley Branham, and Ronald JR Branham; and his granddaughter, Macie Branham. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Ruth Branham; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Christian, Faith, and Chase Branham.
Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, May 27, 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 28 10am, at the funeral home. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
