Tamaqua [PA] graduate is now leading the Navy’s advanced warfighting school (Trubilla '01)

Trubilla has been appointed to lead the Navy's Surface Advanced Warfighting School, which is often referred to as the equivalent of the famed Top Gun school for aviators, but for warships.

The 1997 Tamaqua Area High School (in PA) graduate recently took over as the officer in charge of that program, which is located aboard Naval Base San Diego in California, where he is stationed.

After high school, Trubilla earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001 and a master's degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College in 2008, which helped prepare him for his current role.
