DHR Health Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Kip Owen [USNA '75], Re-Elected to National Sports Medicine Society

EDINBURG, Texas – DHR Health is delighted to announce that orthopaedic surgeon, Kip Owen, MD, FAAOS has been re-elected to the Council of Delegates for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) for a second consecutive, three-year term.

The AOSSM is a professional organization dedicated to providing knowledge, skills, and continuing education to its member practitioners. In his role on this national committee, Dr. Owen will spearhead grassroots outreach initiatives, foster communication with other physicians at a local level, and provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas.

Dr. Owen received his Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy.  He served eight years of active duty as a Fleet Fighter Pilot and retired from the U.S. Navy in 2002.  Dr. Owen graduated from the Texas A&M College of Medicine in 1988 with honors.  He completed his residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
