Navy Support Facility Diego says farewell to commanding officer, USNA alum (Guheen III '02)

U.S. Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia conducted a change of command ceremony at Jake's Place, 8 July 2026, where CAPT Brett Whorley, USN, assumed command from CAPT William Guheen III '02, USN, as commanding officer.
His next assignment will be at Navy Warfare Development Center located in Norfolk. He relinquished his duties to Whorley following the reading of orders and formal transfer of authority during the ceremony.
Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia is a U.S. Navy-operated military base located on the atoll of Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory, providing strategic logistical support in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf regions.
