Mahan '03 to perform the duties of Under Secretary of the Navy

Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao '96 announced yesterday, 29 September that William F. Mahan '03 has been selected to perform the duties of the Under Secretary of the Navy while CAPT William Toti '79, USN (Ret.) nominated for the position earlier this month, undergoes the confirmation process. Mahan currently serves in the role of Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition and has been a key member of the Shipbuilding Council, helping advance efforts to strengthen America's naval industrial base and expand the nation's “Golden Fleet.” During Mahan's temporary assignment, VADM E. Seiko Okano '94, USN, will assume the responsibilities of Assistant Secretary for Research, Development and Acquisition.
