Learn more about the James Bond Stockdale Award for Inspirational Leadership
The James Bond Stockdale Award for Inspirational Leadership recognizes active-duty Navy commanding officers who demonstrate inspirational leadership both professionally and personally while also contributing to the improvement of leadership in the Navy. It is peer-driven, as only those who are eligible for the award themselves are allowed to nominate others for consideration. The award was established in 1980 and first awarded in 1981. It is named for the late Vice Adm. James Bond Stockdale, a Naval Academy graduate from the class of 1943 and Naval Aviator.  Of the 87 awardees of the Stockdale Award in the lifetime of its existence, 51 have been alumni of the United States Naval Academy. With nearly 60% of the recipients of this prestigious award being Naval Academy graduates, it is important to highlight how central leadership is to the curriculum, development and evolution of the Naval Academy.

Visitors will learn the history of the SEALs and what it takes to become a member, including their rigorous training. The museum opens to the public on Oct. 4; tickets go on sale Sept. 1.

Annapolis Sailboat Show returns this weekend. Here's what to know.
The Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show will return to City Dock this weekend. Here's what to know about navigating what is expected to be a crowded downtown. The show, which is smaller than the fall version, will feature over 100 exhibitors, including boat displays, seminars and boating groups. The Capital Gazette took the helm during a workshop put on by the American Sailing Association at last year's spring show. The workshop returns and will again offer sailing lessons, according to the boat show's website. Starting at 10 a.m. Friday and running until 5 p.m. Sunday there will be limited parking downtown. Several areas downtown are reserved for Ward 1 residents this week. Parking at the end of Dock Street from Randall Street to Susan Campbell Park is prohibited. Dock and Prince George streets from the Craig Street intersection are closed to vehicles for show set up, according to a city news release.

Bonds of Gold
Yesterday, we gathered for our annual Bonds of Gold Ceremony, an event that unites the legacies of the Class of 1977 and the Class of 2027 through the 'Another Link in the Chain' tradition. This unique tradition allows '77 classmates to contribute their rings or pins, which will then be integrated into the new rings of the Class of 2027, fostering a connection that will endure for years to come.
