He was commanding officer of the 75th Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, American Expeditionary Forces. He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (the Army's equivalent of the Navy Cross), the Navy Cross, and the Silver Star. Could Red Sox soon receive surprise bullpen help?
It's probably now or never for Boston Red Sox prospect Noah Song '19. Can we still call him a prospect? Song, 28, originally entered the organization as a fourth-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft out of the Naval Academy. The Red Sox viewed him as a potential difference-maker down the line, though he was limited to just one (admittedly dominant) season before military obligations put his career on the back burner. The Philadelphia Phillies then tried to swoop in and steal him during the 2022 Rule 5 Draft, though he wasn't able to make the roster out of camp and ultimately was designated for assignment. Boston immediately welcomed him back with open arms, and although he missed all of last season due to injury, it looks like things are back on the rails.

Sailors who can't deploy will be moved to empty jobs under Navy program
The Navy is implementing a program that will transfer non-deployable sailors to jobs that will keep them in the service long enough to return to duty rather than being separated on medical grounds. The new EMPLOY program will focus on sailor “employability, not deployability,” by filling empty jobs with sailors who cannot deploy and reducing the number of sailors separated from the service through the Disability Evaluation System, according to a Naval admin notice posted Monday.
