Super-sized NBA legend David Robinson (USNA '87) leaves big impression on RAGBRAI riders

The NBA Hall of Famer stands 7-foot-1, and he was the talk of RAGBRAI on the Day 4 and 5 rides, Wednesday, 23 July and Thursday, 24 July.

Along the way, Robinson — who was a key member of the San Antonio Spurs for 15 years, including when they won championships in 1999 and 2003 — posed for photos with dozens of awe-struck fans. They posted their snapshots and selfies on social media and raved about his graciousness and warm rapport.

RAGBRAI, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is the largest cycling tour in the world. The ride traverses Iowa west to east from the state line at the Missouri river to the border at the Mississippi River.
