ANNAPOLIS, Md.--WNAV Radio (1430 AM) in Annapolis has announced an extension of its long-running partnership with the Naval Academy Athletic Association through the 2027 season, ensuring continued coverage of Navy sports as the station enters its 77th year of broadcasting Midshipmen athletics.

Friday, Aug 29, 2025Today in Navy, Marine Corps and USNA Memorial Hall History 1881 - LCDR Benjamin Edes, Class of 1865, USN and LT Lyman Spalding, Class of 1866, USN were killed in the explosion of a sea mine at Newport, Rhode Island, “due to the mismanagement of an electric switch.” Benjamin had served continuously since graduation; Lyman had left the service for five years after the Civil War.
