Riley Green invited a very special guest to the stage during his cover performance of Jamey Johnson’s “In Color” at the Windy City Smokeout in Chicago on Sunday, July 13. The 36-year-old country superstar welcomed First Lieutenant Jackson Perkins, 26, of the United States Marine Corps, to sing the classic country song in front of thousands of fans.

For Jackson Perkins, who is currently stationed at the Marine Barracks in Washington, DC, singing alongside Green in front of such a large audience was particularly meaningful, as he aspires to be a country music star. Perkins is originally from Barrington, Illinois, but his family now resides in Fontana, Wisconsin. Before enlisting in the military, Perkins aimed to attend the Naval Academy, where he played football as a defensive end.
