50 Years of Women: Breaking Barriers & Building Bonds

In 2026, USNA Women will celebrate a historic milestone—50 years since women first joined the ranks of the U.S. Naval Academy.

What began in 1976 with 81 pioneering midshipmen has grown into a legacy of excellence, resilience, and trailblazing achievement. This anniversary honors every member of the USNA family who has helped shape our story—past, present, and future.

Together, we’ll reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and strengthen bonds for the next generation. Whether you wore the uniform decades ago, are serving today, or just tossed your cover at graduation—this is your story too.
