Navy Announces Commissioning of the Future USS Ted Stevens

WHITTIER, Alaska — The U.S. Navy will commission its newest Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, USS Ted Stevens (DDG 128), on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 12 p.m. AKDT in Whittier, Alaska.


The Navy’s newest Flight III Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ted Stevens (DDG 128) arrives in Whittier, Alaska on Sept. 27, 2026. The future USS Ted Stevens is the first warship to bear the name of the decorated World War II veteran and Alaskan Senator, honoring his legacy of defense advocacy and the strategic maritime partnership between the Navy and the state of Alaska.
